Grading

Each of your lessons will be graded for accuracy and you are expected to show all work on the open-ended questions for full credit. The examinations are worth 60 percent and the two-part lesson assignments are worth 40 percent of your course grade.

Each lesson assignment will contain 20 questions consisting of

for a total of 30 points per lesson. There will be 240 points total for the eight lessons. The examinations will be worth 180 points each for a total of 360 points. There are 600 total points possible for the course.

The grading scale will be as follows:

97 A-plus, 93 A, 90 A-minus; 87 B-plus, 83 B, 80 B-minus; 77 C-plus, 73 C, 70 C-minus; 67 D-plus, 63 D, 60 D-minus; 59 and below, F

Important: To be in compliance with the Independent Study Program’s academic policies, your exam grades must average at least a D−minus in order for you to pass the course. Even if your assignment grades are excellent, you will not pass the course unless you fulfill this requirement.
